Ok, you know i like to use Jquery right? and Google Maps right? Now i found a API where i can use to download their data through XML and display weather information.

Google maps + Yr.no + Geonames

These 3 are the engine. Google maps does have geocoding which you can enter a city and it return longitude, latitude. Meanwhile Geonames takes the long, lat data and return user information such as timezone, current time. data etc. The last one is Yr.no API, which also use long, lat and return an xml.

Jquery + XML + Json

Of course you need to use php save the xml output from Yr.no, caches it 60 minutes. Then let the php return those data as Json or XML if you like, i use Json.

It’s working but need to design a bit

Right now, when you enter the website, it will guess where you are from by tracing ip(?). It shows today’s weather. You can check next day or 7 days ahead. The last one contains MANY data, that’s why i need to design it again so users don’t have to click forward.

Link: http://w.vietzon.com

You can type wrong and still let google fix it for you. Type NY (or New Jork) will be New York, HK will be Hong Kong etc. This weather service will get almost anywhere you like. Maybe i will add a map, little one, so you can see if it’s correct city. You don’t want to type Hanoi and it show you somewhere outskirt.

Bugs? report it in comment

It has been a long time since i post anything here. At 11th Feb I moved to Stockholm to find jobs. Things haven’t been quite as it should but i hope i will get a job next week as webmaster. Anyway, here are some pictures from my cellphone HP iPAQ Voice Messenger (not good as pentax k10d)

Look the whole set of pictures here

Rent a small apartment

The apartment is very cosy. A kitchen and a bathroom included. oh yes, 100mbit makes internet loads faster :D

Walk from here to city takes about 40min, to the tube is approx 4min.

Slussen. To city

Everyone says Stockholm is big but i say much much small than Hanoi. I am not impress but hey, i just want to work so it doesn’t bother me much.

I am walking on a river!

There was -15c few weeks ago and today was about +2c, still you can walk on this river (google maps here). I think the summer will be much better. A walking track on land is about 3km and the river is on a right side. I am surprise that Stockholmers exercise a lot. Some of them just took a hot cup of cafe and sat down on small bridge, relax.

Instead of downloading movies to your hard drives, you can watch them online. Youtube may be best but sometimes you have to search alot. There are many websites offer Asian movies and drama, but there are also software which allow you to watch TV, drama, movies. All you need is high speed internet.

Watching online

Embed movies to the website. The website have a collection of Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, Chinese movies and dramas. Some of websites have a rating system provides users a hint of good movies and dramas. By watching online, the quality is not the best. If you want the best quality, you need to download which i will show you in “Where to Download”

- Mysoju.com

- http://kungfu-flicks.com (Only kung fu movies)

aznv.tv provide a different service than other online service. You need to register an account, which takes few seconds. Once you are inside, you can search, browse movies and dramas by country (S Korea, Hong Kong, China and more). When you want to watch a movie, just download a m3u file and open it with winamp or your favorite media player. This means you can download all parts and watch it later without visit the website.

Where to Download

Sometimes you really like a drama and you want to download a whole set.The main reason for downloading is the quality is much better, but the size of the files are big. Here are some sources you can download from:

- Veoh
This site is just like Youtube, but the best thing about this website is you can download the movie you are watching. You need to install a plugin to watch full length as in veoh.com desciption: “To watch full length videos you must first install the Veoh Video CompassDownload Veoh Video Compass + Web Player to watch full length videos right in your browser for a seamless browsing and viewing experience.”
Just go to http://www.veoh.com/download and download the plugin. Install it and then search this Korean drama “The Man Who Can’t Get Married”, which i really like it. Choose one of the episodes and next you will see a download button.

- Torrent

Using torrent is a bit complicate but once you setup it right you will it easy to use. I recommend you use µTorrent at: www.utorrent.com. Just for a test please go to http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_39509.htm and download “Kekkon Dekinai Otoko Ep 1-12 Complete”, this is a japanese original version of “The Man Who Can’t Get Married”.

What about subtitles?

Usually the subtitles are included in the download or movie. But sometimes you need to find them. For Korean i recommend this site http://withs2.com, and other asian subtitles at http://www.sars-fansubs.com

Watching TV online

To watch Tv online, you really need a high speed conection, and time to test. Right now i am trying tvants. Often these software are in chinese so either you can read chinese or just click around.

- PPstream (http://www.pps.tv)

A well-known software is ppstream and the streaming part is really fast. To bad most of them around dubbed to chinese or no english subtitles.

- PPLive(http://www.pplive.com)

Same as ppstream, most chinese movies and dramas.

———————————————–

If you have any good links, feel free to post a comment. Questions? just ask :)

As you can see the image above, i removed the fan because i want to put the 120×120mm fan later. I drilled 4 holes and mounted the stands. I then put the board on these stands and tighten it with 4 screws. If you do it right, it should be Ok to put it verticle.

I can close it and flip it without worry the board might drop on the floor…

Next, i drilled 4 holes and mount the disk. the screws are under the disk in this image.

And last thing, the fan mounted on the top, just remember to make the hole!!

I have been really really…no REALLY busy these days. To be honest, i am not the kind that sit here and blog everyday. This February had happened so many things, so lets start now.

Facebook after old friends

I think facebook is great tool to search old friends, especially when i searched a friend who left Sweden more than ten years ago. We went same class, but she later moved to USA with her family. So, I spoke with a friend and he got her last name and searched her right the way! She doesn’t remember much Swedish, just a few words. To see an old friend after so many years, I had so many questions :)

Another facebook-search and found a friend. Im going to quote a string from the wall:

…please, help me, we went to the same class or something right? When?

Should i be worry and just laugh about that line? Anyway, we wrote few messages on the walls and she told me she still live in the same city and i just thought, “When i traveled from Russia, Mongolia, China, i did meet same persons MANY TIMES!!! And my friends whose still live in the same city, and we NEVER bumped into each other…wtf? Seriously, WTF?

Not listening music while on a bus

Why? After saw the Yes Man trailer movie (with Jim Carrey), there was a line in this movie that truck me and made me think. It says if you say NO, it means you say no the opportunities, no to possibilities. By saying No, you simply shut out any connections with the world.

That makes sense ( to me), because for many years, every time i took the bus…i put my headset on and listened to favo songs. So, if i put the headset on, everyone ( even you) knows what i meant “Please do not disturb me”, “Leave me alone”…even sometimes it doesn’t mean that way. What if someone wants to talk to you? What if you want to talk to someone but she/he is listening a songs? What if someone wants help or even just asking for directions…?

So i think, from now on, i will try to not listen to music while im on the move (and smile to everyone even you don’t know that person).Shy? Time to change?

Testing MacOSx on Intel® D945GCLF2 motherboard

Finally!! After many years, i decided not to fix the ASU(ck)S motherboard(mobo) anymore. AGP slot was lost contact with video card, AMD Duron 1200mhz, Ram less than 512mb (not even worth to uppgrade). After spent 2 days, i decide to buy a mobo and it must be: Less watt, less price, less troubles, and able to use macOSx (if i want to, at anytime).

By studying this guide http://holyarmy.org/benjamin/2009/02/building-a-hackintosh-successful-attempt-1/ and installed iPC OSx86 10 5 6 Universal FINAL, which is a “you know what i mean”.

To install the machine is simple:
1. Boot the DVD, do some Disk Utils (check link above for guide)
2. Video as Intel->Intel GM900
3. Audio as Other Audio Drivers->Azalia Audio
4. PS/2 keyboard fix (selected, because i use standard keyboard)

After that, just install the and wait. Then it will reboot automatically and just leave it. Now after few minutes, you are going to create user account. Then reboot…if needed. Once you are in (you see the desktop), than use macOSX Tools to install the EFI stuff (so your disk can boot on it self).

Everythings works, BUT not mic. :). More questions? use the forum/comment and email.

Happy new year 2009, and here are countdowns with fireworks around the world. 2009 is the year of ox and here is chinese zodiac:
People born in the Year of the Ox are patient, speak little, and inspire confidence in others. They tend, however, to be eccentric, and bigoted, and they anger easily. They have fierce tempers and although they speak little, when they do they are quite eloquent. Ox people are mentally and physically alert. Generally easy-going, they can be remarkably stubborn, and they hate to fail or be opposed. They are most compatible with Snake, Rooster, and Rat people.

Top Gear ends the series in epic style as Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May travel to Vietnam and are told to travel the entire length of the country in just eight days, thereby achieving what the American military failed to do in ten years.
You will see many interesting images and places such as Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh city and of course the Halong bay. Watch the movies here

Top Gear: Vietnam Special is a special 75 minute episode of the motoring series Top Gear which was broadcast on December 28 at 8pm. Unlike normal episodes of Top Gear, the primary vehicle of this special were motorbikes.

The challenge, to travel 1000 miles from the bottom of Vietnam to the top, was undertaken by regular presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.[2] The destination for this challenge was a floating dock at sea.

Hammond buys a Russian-built Minsk, May a Honda Cub and Clarkson a green Vespa. The mini-challenges inside included the presenters buying bulky gifts for each other, which will then have to be transported on the journey.

Unlike normal episodes of Top Gear, in which the challenges are related to the abilities of the vehicles which are reviewed, such as the Toyota Hilux in the Top Gear Polar Special, producer Andy Wilman has admitted that “the narrative of the film is a bit more skewed towards the three guys.”

Continuing Top Gear Specials tradition, the ending credits featured crew surnames names prepended by “Francis Ford”, presumably as a tribute to film-maker Francis Ford Coppola and his Vietnam epic Apocalypse Now.
